This piece was inspired by a countryside walk — a quiet moment watching the elegance of two Mandarin Ducks in the water. Traditionally celebrated for their vivid plumage, I chose to render them in black and white as a visual metaphor for perception and restraint. By removing colour, their shapes, gestures, and the texture of the water take centre stage, transforming familiar beauty into something more contemplative.
